Becky joined Canon Capital in 2002. Prior to Canon Capital, she worked for an auto dealership and computer software company. She attended Montgomery County Community College for business. She resides in Tylersport with her husband and they have three children and nine grandchildren. Becky is active in her church and enjoys making crafts and baking. She also loves to take her vacations in Duck, North Carolina.

Bradley Barnhorst

Investment Committee Counsel

Brad joined Canon Capital in 2016 and serves as Investment Committee Counsel.  He is a recognized expert in investment portfolio risk and volatility reduction, with numerous published works in both scholarly and professional journals.   In addition to his role with Canon Capital, he serves as the Chair of the Finance Major and CFP Program Director for both the undergraduate and graduate divisions at DeSales University.  He has prior experience as an Associate Director for Bear, Stearns & Co. specializing in structured equity products and derivatives geared to mitigating investment risk. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.  He has earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Computer Science from Harvard University as well as a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in Corporate Finance and Investment Management from Penn State University.

Marissa Illingworth

Chief Compliance Officer

Marissa joined Canon Capital Wealth Management in December 2018. She brings a background in financial services and technology, having served previously as a client and advisor support professional at an investment, insurance, and financial services firm. In addition to earning a Bachelor of Arts in English with a minor in Business Administration from Millersville University of Pennsylvania and an Associate of Science degree in Liberal Studies from Montgomery County Community College, Marissa also holds various security and insurance licenses. A native of the Harleysville and Souderton region, she now lives in Lancaster, Pennsylvania with her husband, William. Marissa is an avid arts and culture fan and regularly attends performances at the Fulton Theater and sets the goal of seeing a Broadway show at least once each year. Marissa’s work with us is based out of The Candy Factory, a co-working office space in historic downtown Lancaster.

Margaret McCarthy

Client Relationship Associate

Margaret brings over 15 years of experience in public education and as a private coach, trainer, and educational consultant across numerous industries to her role on our Wealth Management team. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Penn State University. In addition to a Graduate Certificate in Coaching and Mentorship and multiple Pennsylvania teaching certificates, she recently earned the Chartered Retirement Plans Specialist (CRPS®) designation. Margaret is a graduate of Souderton Area High School and now makes her home in Royersford with her husband and two children. Outside of work she enjoys cooking, gardening, walking her dog, and spending time with family and friends.

Chuck Porter, Jr.

Shareholder, Co-Director of Wealth Management, Senior Investment Advisor

Chuck Porter, Jr., is the Co-Director of Wealth Management, serving alongside Co-Director Patricia Webb. In addition, he remains dedicated to serving clients as a Senior Investment Advisor, specializing in serving high-net-worth individuals and families. Chuck has been with Canon Capital since 2006 and was admitted to the company as a shareholder in 2018.  Chuck graduated from Widener University where he majored in Economics with an emphasis in Personal Financial Service. He has a Certificate in Financial Management for the Family Office from Pepperdine University’s Graziadio School of Business and Management and he is an Accredited Investment Fiduciary. Chuck is very involved in the community, especially investing in our youth as a coach. He is a member of the Souderton Area High School football coaching staff and serves on a national advisory committee for Pop Warner Football and Cheer. In addition to coaching youth football and basketball, he has served as a committee member for the Penn Foundation Autumn Event, president of the Indian Valley Chamber Community Leadership Institute Alumni Association, a member of the North Penn United Way Emerging Leadership Society, and as a team member on the Calvary Church Count Team. Chuck lives in Harleysville with his wife and their four sons. In his spare time, he enjoys playing sports, playing on the Calvary Church softball team, biking, doing yard work, spending time at the beach or around the fire pit with family, and savoring life with four sons.

Dr. Peter Roland

Shareholder & Managing Director of Wealth Management & Family Office Services

Peter is a Managing Director of Canon Capital and a Founding Member of Canon Capital in 1987.  He has over 30 years of diverse experience solving financial-related problems and managing outcomes for a broad spectrum of clients.  Peter holds the following designations:  CPA Certified Public Accountant, PFS Personal Financial Specialist, AIFA® Accredited Investment Fiduciary Analyst, CFP Certified Financial Planner, ChFC Chartered Financial Consultant, and CMA Certified Management Accountant.  Peter earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Elizabethtown College, a Master of Science in Taxation from Drexel University, and a doctorate Ph.D. degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Financial Management from Northcentral University.  He has completed the Center for Fiduciary Studies Certification program offered through the Joseph Katz School of Business, University of Pittsburgh.  Peter has earned the certificate in Financial Management of the Family Office offered through the Graziadio School of Business of Pepperdine University.  He has been serving as an adjunct instructor of Finance and Accounting in the graduate MBA Master of Business Administration program at DeSales University for over 25 years.  Peter enjoys spending time with his family and dogs.

Andrew Shapowal

Investment Advisor & Digital Asset Specialist

Andrew Shapowal, CPA/PFS, AIF® joined Canon Capital in 2021. He is a Certified Public Accountant whose previous work in public accounting has given him extensive knowledge in the area of taxation. Andrew studied at Messiah College where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting. He is passionate about investing and reading about financial markets and is adept at navigating complex scenarios with ease. Andrew holds the Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) credential and is an Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®). He also holds the Certificate in Blockchain and Digital Assets. Andrew and his wife, Megan, live in Dublin and attend Renew Bible Church of Perkasie. Since 2008, Andrew has been training in the martial arts of Shotokan Karate, Jujitsu, and Aikijujitsu and holds a first-degree black belt in Shotokan Karate. He and his family love spending time on the water, especially when riding their Sea-Doo personal watercraft.

Roger Small

Investment Committee Counsel

Roger started with Canon Capital in 1995.  He was in the U.S. Navy as an engineering officer of an LST.  Following his time in the U.S. Navy, he held the positions of industrial sales engineer and financial counselor.  He earned his Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer and his MBA from Harvard.  Roger is an accredited investment fiduciary.  He attends Grace Community Church.  Roger lives in Souderton with his wife, and has three daughters, 13 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.  Roger likes to read and hike in his spare time.

Andrew Stein

Investment Advisor

Andrew came to Canon Capital in November 2023, bringing financial services industry expertise that includes managing and advising clients regarding their investments as well as planning, ranging from asset growth to retirement income planning. Andrew earned a BS in Economics with a minor in Financial Accounting from Moravian University. Mentoring is important to Andrew. He served on the board of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes – Northeast Pennsylvania Region and he continues to serve by helping facilitate local sports camps. When Andrew isn’t enjoying his hobbies of golfing, cycling, and skiing you can find him walking his Goldendoodle, Maggie, around the Phoenixville neighborhood.

Patricia Webb

Shareholder & Co-Director of Wealth Management Services

Patty has been with Canon Capital since 1997.  She is a Senior Investment Advisor and Co-Director of Wealth Management Services, serving alongside Chuck Porter, Jr.  Before her time at Canon Capital, she worked as an office manager for a small engineering firm and also owned and operated a dance school.  Her industry designations consist of the Certified 401(k) Professional (C(k)P) Program from The Retirement Advisor University (TRAU) in collaboration with UCLA Anderson School of Management Executive Education, a Certificate in Fiduciary Studies (AIF) from the University of Pittsburgh, the Accredited Asset Management Specialist (AAMS) Program from the College for Financial Planning.  She has passed the Series 7 and Series 66 exams administered by the NASD.  She is a member of United States Masters Swimming (USMS).  Patty lives in Royersford with her husband and has one child and two grandchildren.  Her interests include travel, swimming, music, and spending time with her family.
